As a therapist
Being a first responder or working in a high stress, demanding career can take a real toll on your relationship and emotional well being. Long hours, shift work, and the weight of what you carry daily can leave you feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure how to stay close to your partner. As someone with a background in law enforcement, I understand firsthand the unique pressures of this work. In our work together, you will have a steady, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, feel understood, and reconnect.
I am a therapist who is both compassionate and direct. I will help you look honestly at the patterns affecting your relationship, communication, and stress, while guiding you toward meaningful, realistic change. Together, we will strengthen connection, improve communication, and help you feel more grounded both individually and as a couple.
I specialize in working with first responders and couples navigating relationship stress, communication breakdowns, conflict, and major life transitions. We will identify the cycles that keep repeating at home or internally so you can respond differently instead of staying stuck in survival mode. You will learn practical tools to manage stress, regulate emotions, and build a stronger, more supportive partnership.
I understand the impact of high pressure roles, including emotional shutdown, irritability, hypervigilance, and difficulty turning work off. Therapy gives you space to process these experiences, improve emotional awareness, and reconnect without judgment.
My approach is collaborative, personalized, and grounded in evidence based methods like family systems and emotion focused therapy. Sessions balance insight with practical strategies to help you build resilience, deepen self awareness, and create lasting change.
I offer secure virtual therapy for individuals and couples in Pennsylvania and Virginia, making it easier to access support around unpredictable schedules. Whether you are feeling disconnected, burned out, or want your relationship to feel stronger, I am here to help you find your way back to each other.
Background Info
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist offering individual therapy and couples counseling throughout Pennsylvania and Virginia. My work is shaped by both clinical training and real world experience, so our sessions stay practical, honest, and grounded in what it actually takes to get through hard seasons.
I earned my master’s degree in counseling with a concentration in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling from Messiah University, along with a bachelor’s degree in criminology from West Virginia University. My clinical experience includes supporting individuals impacted by crime and providing therapy in outpatient settings, where I saw firsthand how stress, trauma, and relationship dynamics affect everyday life. These experiences continue to shape how I show up, with respect, clarity, and a focus on what truly helps.
Before becoming a therapist, I was in law enforcement working with those struggling with alcohol and substance use disorders. This background allows me to stay calm, direct, and grounded, even when things feel intense or overwhelming. I am especially comfortable working with high stress careers, first responders, high conflict relationships, and strong emotional dynamics. I help you identify patterns, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and move toward meaningful change without judgment.
I am also a mother of two and live with autoimmune disease, which has deepened my understanding of chronic stress, exhaustion, and the reality of navigating life that does not always go as planned. I understand how identity shifts, relationship strain, and emotional overwhelm can show up across different stages of life, and I bring that perspective into our work in a way that is practical and supportive.
I offer secure virtual therapy across Pennsylvania and Virginia, making it easier to access care from the comfort of your home. Whether you are seeking individual therapy, couples counseling, or support through a challenging life transition, my goal is to walk alongside you with honesty, compassion, and steady support.
